Shentu Chain

A blockchain built around verifiable security.

Investment signal

The signal.

Smart-contract security was becoming infrastructure, not a final audit checkbox. Shentu embedded security services into a network where applications and users could coordinate around risk.

The security-focused network formerly known as CertiK Chain, combining proof of stake with tools for analyzing, monitoring, and protecting decentralized applications.

What it is

Shentu Chain is a proof-of-stake network focused on blockchain security. The project emerged from CertiK Chain and uses CTK for network operation, governance, and security-oriented services.

Its thesis is that risk information should be available inside the same environment where applications run and users make decisions. Analysis, monitoring, and protection become shared infrastructure rather than isolated reports.

That makes credibility the core product. Security signals have to be current, explainable, and resistant to becoming a badge that users trust without understanding the limits behind it.

What the company is building now.

Mainnet v2.18.0 went live in May 2026. The most visible application work is OpenMath, a decentralized platform for publishing, funding and verifying mathematical proofs, alongside OpenBounty and the Security Oracle.

01 / Goal

The job it wants to do.

Make provable security a native blockchain service through security oracles, decentralized bug bounties, formal methods and transparent mathematical proof collaboration.

02 / Capital

Public funding record.

Shentu originated from CertiK Chain, but CertiK company equity rounds must not be attributed to the independent network. Public disclosures identify private token sales and investor allocations, but amount records are inconsistent.

04 / Crypto role

Where it sits in the stack.

Shentu is a Cosmos-based security Layer 1. Its differentiation is embedding risk and verification tools inside a public network rather than treating security as a one-time off-chain audit.

What its X is saying.

The feed is lower-frequency but concrete: the v2.18.0 mainnet upgrade and recurring OpenMath theorem bounties. The pinned post is OpenMath’s October 2025 launch.

06 / Horizon

The long game.

Become a public verification layer where software and mathematical claims can carry transparent, economically coordinated evidence.

07 / Our view

Fit with the Box Ventures thesis.

Fits security infrastructure, but adoption is the constraint. The value of a security network comes from trusted, current signals integrated into real developer and user decisions—not from the existence of a security label.

What must go right
  • Independent usage of Security Oracle, OpenBounty and OpenMath
  • Separation of Shentu governance from CertiK corporate interests
  • Developer activity and economic demand for CTK-denominated services

Funding labels distinguish equity, token sales, grants and treasury budgets where the public record allows. Analysis is Box Ventures’ interpretation, not a claim made by the project.
